The Challenge
Hambledon Wine Estates operate in a fiercely competitive space. Big brands dominate the space, and their website was falling behind and potential customers were looking elsewhere.
What We Did
We rebuilt the homepage, fixed the technical foundation, optimised every key commercial page, and built topical authority around English sparkling wine and WSET courses.
The Results:
55,561 clicks and 3,051,751 impressions in 12 months.
Clicks grew from 120-150 per day in April 2025 to peaks of 230-250 per day through summer 2025. Impressions grew from 6,400 per day to consistently 9,000-12,000 per day by late 2025.
Average position moved from 24 in April 2025 to 10-11 by September 2025, and has held in the 10-14 range since. That is a near halving of average position across the whole site. It happened right as the schema overhaul, site clean-up, and topical authority work landed.
78.8% of clicks are non-branded. Real new customers finding them for the first time.
Now ranking and driving clicks for high intent terms: WSET Level 2, English sparkling wine, wine tasting near me, and wine tasting UK.
Mobile driving the most clicks (31,187). Desktop drives the most impressions (1.6m). Tablet converting best with a 4.06% click-through rate.
Key pages now appear in Google's AI Overviews, adding trust and extra reach.
Business Impact:
An extra £14,902 a month in booking revenue in our first quarter. A 25% lift.
December gross sales more than tripled year on year. From £30,526 to £96,351.
A 52% increase in gross orders. A 33% increase in organic orders for the English sparkling wine collection.
Hambledon now has a website that works as hard as the vineyard itself.
