Web Design Case Study: Wine U Design
Wine U Design – Custom Website and Booking Platform Case Study

Client: Wine U Design
Industry: Custom Winemaking
Location: Long Island, New York
Project Duration: 3 Months
Website Size: 20+ Pages
Wine U Design is a hands-on winemaking experience based on Long Island, New York. They let customers create their own wine from grape to bottle, offering a fully immersive process. Their site needed to reflect the energy of the experience while keeping things simple for bookings, classes, and events.
Wine U Design serves three clear customer groups:
New York locals (walk-ins and repeat customers)
United States customers (nationwide wine shipping)
Long Island tourists (hands-on experiences and memorable activities)
Together, this covers local corporate wine clients, online customers who want something custom, and tourists looking for a fun, in-person activity.
Project objectives
1) Make booking simple and self-serveThe website needed a clear, easy booking system for events, winemaking sessions, and private parties. The aim was to cut admin time, reduce the number of tools being used, and let customers manage their own experience from start to finish.
2) Set up nationwide sales with compliant shippingWine U Design wanted to sell and ship custom wine across the US using VinoShipper. That meant building a checkout that could handle different state rules and alcohol shipping laws, without creating friction for the buyer.
3) Migrate the existing site without losing search trafficWe moved an established site onto a new content system while protecting rankings and traffic. This is the bit that usually goes wrong if you do it without a proper plan.
Results (October to December 2025)
Zero ranking drops during migration
2.5x increase in daily organic clicks (60 → 150+)
3x growth in daily impressions (12,000 → 30,000 to 40,000)
Click-through rate improved from 0.4% to 0.7%
What made it work
Full technical audit before the move
One-to-one page matching and proper redirects
Tracking and search setup from day one, with close monitoring
Kept key on-page search signals in place, including structured data
Speed and mobile improvements on the new platform
The real win
Traffic did not dip and recover slowly. It held steady, then grew straight away.
The new setup loaded faster, ran cleaner, and worked better on mobile. Search engines noticed. Rankings improved within weeks.
Key takeaway:
Website moves do not need to kill traffic. If you do the basics properly, they can unlock new growth instead.
